Marine Park Football League 2006

League Format

The league will consist of twelve teams and played in head-to-head format. There will be three divisions of four teams. Teams will be placed in divisions in a random drawing prior to draft day.

Schedule

The regular season will be fourteen weeks long. The post season runs for two weeks. Each team will play division opponents twice and every other team once.

The Draft

The draft will be conducted in an auction format. Each team will have a $200 salary cap. Owners will nominate players for auction in an order determined at random before the draft.Minimum bid is one dollar and subsequent bids are made in one dollar increments.

The draft will be held at the Night Owl on Flatbush ave in Brooklyn on Thursday August 24th at 7:00 PM

Rosters

Rosters will consist of sixteen players. There are no positional requirements. If you want to draft five tight ends you may do so. Just make sure you have enough of each position to field a proper starting lineup each week.

Transactions/Fees

Note: There are eight bye weeks this season so if you manage your roster efficiently ten transactions should be plenty.

Playoffs

A total of four teams will advance to the playoffs. The three division winners and one wildcard. The wildcard is the non-division winning team with the best win/loss record.

Ties for the wildcard will be broken by the following rules:

  1. Head-to-Head Record.
  2. Total Points Scored
  3. Win/loss record against teams in your opponents division. If both teams are in the same division then itís win/loss record within the division. This tie-breaker is not used in the case of a three (or more) way tie unless all teams involved are in the same division.
  4. Win/loss record against the three division winning teams (winning percentage).

Ties for the division will be broken by the following rules:

  1. Head-to-Head Record
  2. Divisional Win/Loss Record
  3. Total Points Scored
  4. Most Number of Wins
  5. Most Points Scored Against Division.

In the event that a division tie also has wildcard implications the division tie-breakers get applied first.

In the first week of the playoffs the division winning team with the best record will play the wildcard team, and the other two division winners play each other. The winners of each game play in the championship game in week two (week 16 of NFL season).

If a playoff game ends in a tie the following tie-breakers get applied:

  1. Most reserve points scored
  2. Total TDís scored (starters)
  3. Total TDís scored (whole roster)
  4. Total scoring plays

Toilet Bowl

All teams not qualifying for the playoffs automatically qualify for the Toilet Bowl. The Toilet Bowl will extend to the last game of the NFL season.

Prizes

Divisional winners who lose in the first round receive $300. If the wildcard team loses in the first round they receive $225. The championship team receives 2/3 of the remaining pot. The runner up receives the other 1/3 (roughly a $1200 / $600 split)

The Toilet Bowl winner receives $225
